Refund policy

PART I – RETURNS AND REFUNDS

1.  Right of Withdrawal and Return Window

In accordance with Article VI.47 of the Belgian Code of Economic Law, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase and return Products within fourteen (14) calendar days of the date on which you received your order, without providing any reason and without penalty. This right of withdrawal is further described in the General Terms and Conditions of Sale.

To exercise this right, you must notify MishMash of your intention to return within the fourteen (14) day period by contacting hello@mishmashfood.com. Following notification, you have a further fourteen (14) calendar days to return the Products.

 

2.  Eligibility for Return

To be eligible for a return, the following conditions must be met:

       The Product must be returned in its original, factory-sealed and undamaged packaging, with all original seals intact.

       The Product must not have been opened, used or consumed in any way.

       You must provide proof of purchase (order confirmation email or order number).

       The return request must be submitted within the fourteen (14) day return window described in Article 1.

 

In accordance with Article VI.53, 9° of the Belgian Code of Economic Law, the right of withdrawal does not apply to Products that have been unsealed (opened) after delivery, as return would be unsuitable for reasons of health protection and hygiene. This applies regardless of how much of the Product has been used or consumed. Accordingly, only Products in their original, factory-sealed condition are accepted for return.

Practical note: a jar of MishMash spread that has been opened — even if only briefly — is not eligible for return under any circumstances.

 

3.  Pre-Orders and Made-to-Order Products

Pre-ordered Products are produced on a made-to-order basis. Once production has commenced, pre-orders cannot be cancelled or returned, except in the cases of a defect or non-conformity as described in Article 4 below.

Cancellation of a pre-order prior to the applicable deadline is governed by Article 3.2 of the General Terms and Conditions of Sale.

 

4.  Defective, Damaged or Incorrect Products

Please inspect your order upon receipt. If your Product is defective, damaged, or if you have received an incorrect item, please contact us at hello@mishmashfood.com within a reasonable time of discovery, providing your order number and, where possible, photographs of the issue.

In such cases, MishMash will, at its discretion, offer a replacement, a full or partial refund, or another appropriate remedy. Return shipping costs for defective or incorrectly delivered Products will be borne by MishMash.

 

5.  Return Procedure

To initiate a return, please contact us at hello@mishmashfood.com before sending any Products back. Returns sent without prior authorisation will not be accepted and will be returned to sender.

When contacting us, please include your order number and the reason for the return. We will confirm whether your return is accepted and provide return instructions.

Return shipping costs are borne by the Customer, except where the Product is defective or incorrectly delivered. We recommend using a tracked shipping service, as MishMash cannot be held responsible for returns lost or damaged in transit.

 

6.  Exchanges

MishMash does not operate a direct exchange programme. If you wish to exchange a Product, please initiate a return in accordance with Article 5 above (subject to the eligibility conditions of Article 2) and place a new order separately on the Website.

 

7.  Refunds

Once we have received your returned Product and verified that it meets the eligibility conditions set out in Article 2, we will notify you by email of the outcome of the inspection.

If the return is approved, we will process your refund within fourteen (14) calendar days of receiving the returned Product or receipt of proof of return, whichever is earlier. The refund will be issued using the same payment method as the original transaction, unless otherwise expressly agreed.

Where applicable, the original standard delivery costs will be refunded. Additional delivery costs incurred by selecting a non-standard delivery method will not be refunded.

MishMash reserves the right to reduce the refund amount to account for any diminution in the value of the Product resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning.

PART II – PAYMENT

8.  Accepted Payment Methods

MishMash accepts the payment methods displayed at checkout on the Website at the time of your order. All transactions are processed through Shopify’s secure payment infrastructure. All prices are displayed in euros (€) inclusive of Belgian VAT. MishMash does not accept payment by bank transfer, cheque or cash.

 

9.  Payment Timing

Payment is collected in full at the time of placing your order, including for pre-orders. Your order will not be confirmed until payment has been successfully processed.

 

10.  Payment Security

All payment transactions are processed through Shopify’s PCI DSS-compliant payment infrastructure. MishMash does not store, access or retain full payment card data. In the event of a failed or declined payment, your order will not be confirmed and you will be notified accordingly.

 

11.  Pricing Errors

In the event of a manifest error in the price displayed on the Website, MishMash reserves the right to cancel the affected order, even after an order confirmation has been sent, and to refund any amounts paid in full. MishMash will notify you promptly in such cases.
